anyone read this section of the artical?

Nika's home was a land of tremendous trade. It was not uncommon for travelers and merchants from far-off exotic locales to find their way to its bustling, cosmopolitan shores.

sounds like the new area that will introduce the assasin will allso contain the trading system weve all been waiting so long for.
if any of it's true that is.

Since when do the characters have real names anyways, are all the warriors in guild wars named brute?

Cantha. Why? They sell islands and collect foreign animals. And you're leaving from Lion's Arch, where the GH sellers are.

I'm gonna remain sceptical
When you've got all the basics covered then you go into specifics. That's how everything works. Of course there will always be overlapping redundancies but it's impossible to not have redundancy when introducing something new.

And if these "specifics" lead to imbalance or just plain pointlessness..??

How will the ability to duel wield be offset by a penalty that:
A- Won't make Warriors redundant
B- Won't make Assassins overpowered
C- Won't make the Assassin redundant ( in other words duel-wielding does the same damage as a single wielding Warrior -- making it a pointless cosmestic change )

It's all moot at the minute anyways, we don't know if this is true -- or whether the "Assassin" will be a PvE only class.

Well I'm sure they'll have a much lower overall AL than warriors. How many assassins wear plate mail?

Perhaps they'll get bonus damage against targets that aren't aggro on them.

Dude...maybe you should wait until you see if/when this class is incorporated into the game before you get all worked up about it? How exactly do you know it's going to be pointless?

If that is the case, it sounds more to me that they will be able to dish out some horrid dps with duel weild melee, but be quite weak AL wise anyway. Possibly even more so than the casters. This would make this quite interesting.

The scans are clearly real enough - as to why Arenanet's publisher would advertise, it is likely that they released their information to several magazines at once, and this was simply the first to print. Such things as magazine schedules are not in the developer or publishers control, and when information is released it tends to go to a couple different sources to (hopefully) create more of a media blitz.

As such, I would expect to see more articles with more information popping up over the next few weeks.

As far as the class itself, there really isn't any information here, but I'll be interested to see how they plan to implement it. A class based around striking before the opponent knows you are there is inherently flawed gameplay perspective because it isn't any fun to be ganked by an invisible opponent with no chance to react, or to easily be slain by an opponent after you miss with your one-gank strike.

On the other hand, sniper rifles remain common in FPS games, and they work off the exact same mechanic as WoW-style rogues. I like to think Arenanet will avoid that style of gameplay, but that remains to be seen.

I cant really read the print on the scan but does it say that the class has dual weilding or are people just speculating because of the concept art? Let me tell you that concept art isn't always accurate....plus we've seen Devona dual wield in the trailer movie...doesnt mean warriors can dual wield.

If you look at the early concept screen shots it show's Cynn weilding two rods (can't find it now ><) and other images implied dual weapons. I think it was developed but pulled early on.

Not sure to belive this but everyone's right, more stuff should start showing up if it's true.

Aw, someone else who thinks he knows about ninjas. Ninjas were spies, infiltrators, and information traders, but very rarely assassins. What you see in anime, DOA, and Hollywood is not the truth.

I have found that men tend to like looking at more developed women, but tend to like dating women of a more "manageable" size.

I'm not sure the fact she's holding a bunch of throwing knives in her hands suggests she can dual wield... those are all knives in her hands (like the ones in the sheath on her thy).

She's a ranger with shorter range and the stealth skill that was removed from our rangers!

I think it's more like Claw weapons designed to be on both hands. Either way though, you'd have to calculate hits seperately or it'd look strange.

I wonder if ANet is taking another crack at implementing some kind of stealth skill/attribute.
